GuyDar Terms and Conditions
Effective October 7, 2026. Version 2026-10-07.
1. Who we are and when these Terms apply
GuyDar is an adults-only service for discovering nearby people, viewing profiles, and communicating. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the GuyDar website and app provided by Colton Jorgensen (“GuyDar,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Our mailing address is 358 S 700 E Ste B242, Salt Lake City, UT 84102, United States. Contact us at [email protected].
These Terms take effect on October 7, 2026. Before creating an account, you must be given access to these Terms and affirmatively agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains our handling of personal information. Acknowledging that policy does not, by itself, give consent to optional sensitive-data processing or sharing.
Launch region: United States. GuyDar’s current service is intended for users located in the United States.
2. Adults only and account eligibility
You must be at least 18 and at least the age of legal adulthood where you live, have legal capacity to agree to these Terms, and be legally permitted to use the service. Do not use GuyDar if you do not meet these requirements. Do not create an account for a minor, misstate your age, or include a minor in any profile or photo.
Provide accurate registration information and a valid email address. Keep your password private and use your own account. Notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. A couple profile must represent two eligible adults who each consent to the profile and its content. You remain responsible for activity you authorize through your account.
3. Current service and testing status
GuyDar is currently a testing service. Features may change, be temporarily unavailable, or be discontinued. Events and Groups & Places are temporarily unavailable. Payments, subscriptions, video calls, and identity or background verification are not part of the current service. Email verification confirms access to an email address; it does not establish identity, age, suitability, or trustworthiness.
Some profiles are clearly labeled fictional samples and cannot receive messages. Conversation starters are suggestions you may edit; you choose whether to send them. We do not guarantee matches, replies, meetings, or relationship outcomes. Any future paid service will require separately disclosed pricing and payment terms before you purchase it.
4. Consent, respectful conduct, and prohibited use
Treat other people respectfully. A profile, location pin, health disclosure, wink, or message is not consent to sexual activity, physical contact, continued messaging, or an in-person meeting. Respect a refusal and stop unwanted contact.
Do not use GuyDar to: harass, threaten, stalk, discriminate unlawfully, extort, scam, impersonate, or exploit anyone; share another person’s private information or intimate images without permission; create or distribute child sexual abuse material or content involving minors; facilitate trafficking or illegal sexual services; promote unlawful conduct; send unsolicited commercial messages; infringe intellectual property; distribute malicious software; or evade a block or account restriction.
Do not scrape or harvest profiles, photos, health disclosures, messages, or location data; use them to identify or track people outside GuyDar; sell that information; or use it to train external models without the affected people’s permission and any other required rights. Do not probe or disrupt systems, defeat access controls, or access another person’s account without authorization. Good-faith security concerns may be sent to [email protected].
5. Your content and our limited permission to use it
You keep ownership of content you submit, including your profile text, photos, and messages. Submit only content you own or have permission to use. Photos must depict only eligible adults represented by the profile, and all identifiable people must consent to their inclusion. Do not use misleading photos, impersonations, or synthetic images presented as authentic depictions of another person.
You give GuyDar a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, copy, resize, format, transmit, display, and review your content only as needed to provide, secure, and administer the service in accordance with your sharing choices and the Privacy Policy. This permission is not a license to sell your content or use your likeness in unrelated advertising. We may allow service providers to perform these functions on our behalf.
That permission ends when the content is deleted from our systems, except to the extent limited retention is necessary for a legal obligation, a specific safety or fraud investigation, or restricted backup recovery. It does not remove copies other users have independently saved.
6. Profile visibility, location, and sensitive disclosures
Choose carefully what to share. Your visible profile content, photos, displayed location, and activity indicators may be seen by eligible users. Other users may copy information even when doing so violates these Terms.
GuyDar stores the location you provide to operate its location features. The displayed-location distance moves your pin; it does not guarantee anonymity. Choosing zero distance may expose the actual stored location. Invisible mode hides your discovery marker and online status but does not make every prior interaction or every view of your profile disappear.
Health disclosures and other intimate profile details are optional and self-reported. Do not treat a profile as medical advice, a verified test result, or proof that contact is safe. You do not have to disclose health information to use the service. The Privacy Policy explains sharing and deletion controls.
7. Messages, reports, moderation, and safety
Direct messages are stored on GuyDar’s server and are not end-to-end encrypted. They are intended for the participants, but authorized operational access may be necessary for support, security, lawful requests, or investigations. A block prevents further contact through the blocked relationship and hides its earlier conversation; it does not necessarily erase the stored message records.
You may use the app’s block and report functions and contact [email protected]. Reports are recorded, but GuyDar does not provide continuous monitoring, emergency assistance, or a guaranteed response time. Contact emergency services for an immediate threat. We may remove content or restrict an account when reasonably necessary to address a violation, protect users, comply with law, or maintain the service. Where appropriate and lawful, we will explain the action and consider a review request sent to [email protected].
We do not conduct criminal background checks or guarantee another user’s identity, statements, health, conduct, or intentions. Use your own judgment when communicating or meeting, and choose arrangements you consider safe. These precautions do not excuse unlawful conduct or remove any responsibility we have under applicable law.
8. Intellectual property and third-party services
Except for user content and third-party materials, GuyDar’s branding, design, and software are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, revocable permission to use the service for its intended personal purposes. These Terms do not change licenses for open-source components.
Maps are supplied through OpenStreetMap. Third-party websites, infrastructure, or services have their own terms and privacy practices. Their availability and content may change. We remain responsible for our own obligations when using service providers.
9. Closing accounts and changing the service
You may stop using GuyDar at any time. To delete your account, open Settings → Your profile and choose the permanent account-deletion option. The Privacy Policy explains the resulting deletion and any remaining records. Logging out, clearing a browser cookie, hiding an answer, or using Invisible mode does not delete an account.
We may suspend or terminate access for material violations, legal requirements, security concerns, or discontinuation of the service. We will provide reasonable notice of a planned shutdown when practicable. Provisions that reasonably need to survive closure—such as content rights already exercised, lawful record retention, intellectual property, disputes, and applicable limitations—continue for that purpose.
10. Availability, warranties, and responsibility
To the extent applicable law permits, the testing service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, preservation of every message, or a particular result. We do not exclude warranties that cannot legally be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is responsible to the other for indirect or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when these Terms were agreed. Nothing in these Terms excludes responsibility for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury where it cannot be excluded, violations of privacy obligations that cannot be limited, or any other liability or consumer protection that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. These Terms do not require arbitration or waive class-action rights.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Utah, United States, without applying its conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory protections of your place of residence still apply. Courts with lawful jurisdiction may hear a dispute. No provision requires you to use a court that applicable consumer law does not permit.
You may contact [email protected] to seek an informal resolution. Doing so is optional and does not prevent urgent court relief or exercise of a nonwaivable right. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining Terms remain effective to the extent lawful.
12. Changes and contact
We will identify material changes to these Terms and their effective date and provide notice in the service or by another appropriate method. When new agreement is required, we will ask for it before applying the changed Terms. Changes will not retroactively remove rights in a dispute that has already arisen.
